What to see...

Our Recommendations for Cairo & Beyond

A good place for ideas..

I would highly recommend checking out Alex/Sasha’s Instagram page. She is a Russian immigrant who has travelled a lot through Egypt and now runs group tours. You could join one of her tours or workshops – or just use it for inspiration. I also highly recommend the company Walk Like an Egyptian. Their page will give you some ideas of what there is to see even if you don’t join one of their official tours.

Garbage City & Cave Church

Go with a guide so you can learn the history - the locals do not like being

photgraphed in this area.

Grand Egyptian Museum

It is huge so don't try to rush it  - tickets must be bought online in advance.

Citadel & Islamic Cairo

The visit during the day doesn't take long and is beautiful, but be sure to drive by at night too.

The Nile

My favourite way to see the Nile is a Felucca ride at sunset. There are some Nile Cruises in Cairo at night, but you will get much nicer Egyptian food elsewhere and there will be plenty dancing at the wedding.

Where to Stay

Here are

The L. Boro Hotel

A modern, boutique hotel in San Francisco with stunning skyline views and a fantastic rooftop bar. A 5-minute drive to Safdie Foundry.

Zaron Place City

A reliable and comfortable choice with spacious rooms.

Abu Tarek

My favourite way to see the Nile is a Felucca ride at sunset. There are some Nile Cruises in Cairo at night, but you will get much nicer Egyptian food elsewhere and there will be plenty dancing at the wedding.

The Gigue

A trendy hotel across the bridge with a vibrant lobby scene and great restaurants.
